Our Process
From a spark of inspiration to the joy of unboxing, here is how we bring our toys to life.
Concept
Every Lil Crescent toy starts with a real need. We listen closely to Muslim parents and children to understand what is missing β what Islamic values aren't being represented, what developmental stages aren't being supported. Our team of engineers and educators then sketch, debate, and refine toy concepts until we land on something that is both educationally meaningful and genuinely fun. If an idea doesn't meet our bar for faith value, child development, and lasting play appeal, we start over.
Prototyping
Once a concept is approved, we build a working physical sample to see how the toy actually looks, feels, and plays in a child's hands. We test proportions, piece sizes, and assembly logic β then put it in front of real parents and children for honest feedback. Does it hold a toddler's attention? Are the pieces the right size for little hands? Is the Islamic content clear and age-appropriate? We refine the size, feel, and details through multiple rounds until every element is just right.
Testing
Safety is non-negotiable at Lil Crescent. Every toy undergoes rigorous independent testing before it goes anywhere near a child. We test for choking hazards, sharp edges, small parts, structural durability, and stress resistance. All materials are screened for heavy metals, phthalates, and lead content to meet and exceed global toy safety regulations β including ASTM F963 (US), EN71 (EU), and CPSIA compliance. Only toys that pass every test move forward to manufacturing.
Manufacturing
We partner with experienced, ethical manufacturing facilities that share our commitment to quality and child safety. We source FSC-certified sustainable wood, use only non-toxic water-based paints and finishes, and conduct hands-on quality checks at every stage β from raw material cutting through assembly to final inspection and packaging. Every Lil Crescent toy that leaves our facility has been built, checked, and approved to the same standard we would expect for our own children.
